Spread the word!

Oh, happy day! My book Reluctant Guardian has won a Reader's Choice award! I just found out, and the crazy thing is that I almost deleted the email informing me I had won an award! I thought it was spam! I actually forwarded the email to my publisher, asking if it was legit!

The film company, Wind Dancer Films, picks only ten books out of a thousand (the books that win these awards) to be considered for a movie/TV production and mine was one!

I am beyond excited. I'm mostly hoping that if it goes to film that I'll make enough money to pay my bills!

The very fact that my is book is gaining attention thrills me. I so badly want to bring awareness to the subject of suicide. People, especially teens, need to know that suicide is not the answer, that it is achingly difficult for those left behind. They need to know that the hell they are going through will get better if they just hold on. They need to know that they matter, that they're loved, even if they don't feel it at the moment.

Help me spread the word and please, please, please... if you are contemplating suicide, please call this helpline... 1 (800) 273-8255, National Suicide Prevention LifelineHours: 24 hours, 7 days a weekLanguages: English, SpanishWebsite: www.suicidepreventionlifeline.org
